The Company was assigned to the 39th Signal Battalion in Vung Tau.
There were several other companies assigned to the 39th with an area of operations extending
to Da Nang in the north. Each of these companies had their company shields that they wore on
their fatigue jacket pocket. I purposed the shield (See Below) to the company and they
bought in to the spirit of the Snakemen.
The Black center of the shield represents a piece of cable that is stretched in the center
almost to the point of breaking by our strong soldiers. This was worn by our troops as long as
I was there.
